Spokesperson of Foreign Ministry Ambassador Dina Mufti
said Ethiopia’s power sale to neighboring countries is playing a crucial role
in reinforcing the country’s relations within the sub-region.

Ambassador Dina explained the power deals Ethiopia is
making with neighboring countries contribute to the African Union’s efforts of
continental integration.
Mihret Debebe, Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian
Electric Power Corporation said the power inter-connectivities are happening
after thorough studies of financial feasibility and of environmental impact
assessments.
Ethiopia, which is seen as a power hub for the East
Africa-wide power grid connection, is now connecting with Djibouti, Kenya and
Sudan.
