Scores Of Worshippers Killed In Mosque Bombing Where The Emir Of Kano Worships | Sahara Reporters

Scores of worshippers were killed this afternoon in a bomb explosion which ripped through the Central mosque where the Emir of Kano worships regularly on Fridays.

The explosion, which also left many injured, occurred ahead of Friday prayers.
While the security agencies are yet to issue a statement, some accounts say that over 200 persons may have been killed in the incident.

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi ll, regularly worships at the mosque, but SaharaReporters has learned that he is away in Mecca.

Scores of dead bodies are presently been evacuated to mortuaries in Kano town while survivors are also being taken to nearby hospitals.

The attack is coming barely two weeks after the Emir, in the same mosque, urged citizens to take their destiny in their hands and protect communities from those carrying out violent attacks.
